Flag football & Cheer clinic are fast approaching! All games and practices will be on Saturdays this year from 2pm-6pm at White River High School. We will have concessions, so don't worry about cooking dinner! We can't wait to see you all on April 11.
Coach Davis, of the 5/6 team is a dedicated coach and known for saying, "Always Be Kind". Coach Davis got involved with the Wolverines several years ago when his son, Jordan Davis, joined the team. Jordan was a 5th grader at Kibler Elementary School who loved playing football and wearing the number 33 on his jersey. Of course he also liked the Seahawks and playing Madden. His brother, Jared Davis, was a 3rd grader at Kibler Elementary School. Jared had an inventive imagination. He liked Legos, building flying cars, singing, drawing and making stuff for his dad. Tragically, in January 2010, these two young brothers were killed after the car they were riding in went into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle, traffic officers suspect speed and alcohol may have contributed to the deadly crash.
Today the Wolverines organization is proud to work closely with Coach Davis to keep the memory of his beautiful boys alive. An account called the Davis Fund was created to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to love football and/or cheer as much as the Davis Family. This fund provides scholarship to kids in our community and provides the opportunity to be a part of the Wolverines to those that otherwise may not be able to.
It is important for us as community members to take note of the role we play in each other's lives. Whether it be by giving what we can to help those who cannot help themselves, or by volunteering our time to help build others up. This fund is at the center of who we are as a Wolverines organization.
The Wolverines are looking for others to join our Relay for Life team. The Wolverines will have a team walking in Relay for Life this year as well as selling their famous concessions, including the Wolverine Burger, at the event on Friday May 29th and Saturday 30th at Glacier Middle School.
There is no fee! Joining and walking in Relay for Life is free and the Wolverines have taken care of the fundraising obligation. If you and your family would like to participate please click here to register. Please remember that our concessions fulfills our fundraising obligation, so don't be intimidated by our goal!
We will have more information as it becomes available and you can follow Buckley Relay for Life on Facebook. Let's show cancer just how tough we are!
